Business Continuity Management (BCM) is a management process, supported by the organization's leadership, that identifies the potential impact of losses. It aims to create a process and environment that ensure continuity and recovery of the organisation's key processes and activities following a disruption at a predetermined minimum level at a predetermined time. BCM protects the interests of key stakeholders, shareholders and other interest groups, the reputation and brand of the company.
Continuity of operations of an organization is therefore understood as the strategic and tactical capability of an organization to be prepared for and respond to incidents and disruptions to the organization's operations in order to continue at a predetermined acceptable level.
The Business Continuity Management System Manager is the person responsible for planning activities, organising and managing the implementation of business continuity measures to achieve the stated objectives in a given area. In practice, the BCMS manager is a kind of intermediate level between the top management (strategic management level) and the operational level.
